| Eastern South Dakota is in the flyway of many migratory birds. Spring and fall bring large flocks of snow and blue geese to the area that enjoy feeding on corn in the fields and stop for a rest on the small lakes and pot holes. Weather, open water and food available determine when and how long the geese will stay around in the fields to feed. It's an awesome sight to see thousand and thousands of geese landing and taking off from feeding and resting places. The noise they make adds to the spectacular show they perform when they are in the area. Goose hunters are welcome to stay at Possibility Farm Bed and Breakfast while they try their luck at goose hunting, Most neighboring farmers are open to goose hunters harvesting birds from their fields. A package of lodging and meals and land to hunt can be provided along with help in contacting landowner where the geese may be feeding or resting. South Dakota goose hunting rules can be found at www.state.sd.us/gfp |
